Road Conditions & Rules
Dubai's city center has world-class, multi-lane highways with clear signage in English and Arabic. Speed limits range from 60–80 km/h in urban areas to 100–120 km/h on highways (up to 140 km/h in Abu Dhabi). Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers, and the legal blood alcohol limit is 0.0% — strict zero tolerance. Note that Salik (toll gates) are electronic and automatically charged.
Parking in Dubai
Paid RTA parking zones in the city cost roughly AED 2–4 per hour, usually payable via SMS or WhatsApp. Most hotels, The Dubai Mall, and Mall of the Emirates offer vast, often free covered parking. Valet parking is widely available at restaurants and hotels. Avoid parking illegally in residential zones like Jumeirah or Deira as fines are steep.
